Astypalaia
Astypalaia is the "bridge" that connects the Cyclades and the Dodecanese combining elements of both island groups. Full of high rocks and hills, with beautiful beaches and picturesque villages, invites you on a magical journey to the Aegean blue and the white of its houses. The name of the island (which means "old city") is attributed, according to mythology, a brother of Europe, mother of King Minos.
Chora
Chora capital and port is built on a rock protruding into the sea, forming two bays. On one side lies the harbor and the other the bay of Livadi. Chora is linked with the harbor, Pera Yialos, is for many the most beautiful capital of the island in the Aegean. On top of Chora dominates the Venetian castle of Guerini, built with traditional local dark stone, flanked by white houses.
